Day Porter (Building Services)

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Day Porter to provide cleaning and general facility support at a professional facility in Clarksburg, Maryland. The Day Porter will help maintain a clean, safe, and presentable work environment throughout the day.

IMPORTANT SECURITY REQUIREMENT:
This position requires the individual to be a U.S. Citizen. The position supports the cleaning and maintenance of a facility operated by a Department of Defense (DOD) contractor and is subject to site-specific security requirements. Applicants who are not U.S. Citizens will not be considered for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and janitorial duties throughout the assigned facility.
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and other designated areas.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners as needed.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish restroom supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of entrances, hallways, and other high-traffic areas.
  • Monitor assigned areas throughout the day and address cleaning needs as they arise.
  • Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Follow established cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and site-specific protocols.
  • Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Follow all applicable security requirements and facility access procedures.
  • Perform other cleaning and facility-support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish speaker), highly preferred
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, porter, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and facility personnel.
  • Ability to follow safety and security procedures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical cleaning duties for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment as required.
